Celebrating new nonstop service to Miami on a blistery winter day was a treat. For Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Aviatrix Communications coordinated two cheerful gate events, as sunny as Florida itself. In the consecutive inaugural passenger and stakeholder celebrations, we worked to develop a lively, festive atmosphere—utilizing everything from tropical plants to plastic flamingos—for the early-morning flight. We also brought in the feel of Miami’s Little Havana by coordinating with local vendors to provide Cuban pastries and live Latin guitar music. Finally, we created custom “Welcome to Miami” graphics to promote the celebrations. The end result was a series of entertaining events, grateful passengers, and one happy community.
