Palm Springs International Airport needed a brand of its own before it could have a website of its own. We built both.

The challenge
For years the airport borrowed its look from the city’s tourism bureau, using a script logo that never worked well on a screen. Its website packed whole topics into single long pages. Passenger Info alone ran about 2,000 words in one accordion, covering shops, dining, parking, the terminal map, accessibility and lost and found. The business page ran close to 4,000.
The airport commission wanted a clearer path for travelers, better ground transportation information and room to grow, including a chat feature down the road.
The work
We started with the brand. The new mark is four midcentury-modern shapes that form an airplane in the negative space between them, a nod to the city’s architecture. The city approved it in spring 2023, and the website carries it everywhere, in color, type and tone.

- A new home at flypsp.com, with the long catch-all pages broken into focused ones. Security, parking, shops and dining each have their own page.
- The tools travelers check most. Flight status with search, security wait times, a route map, and parking status by section that airport staff update themselves.
- Progress PSP, a project tracker that keeps travelers and neighbors current on construction.
- A 2026 upgrade. As part of the city’s Title II accessibility work, we rebuilt the site on a lighter custom theme, added ongoing accessibility monitoring and an accessibility feedback form, and brought in AI-powered site search and the chat assistant the commission had planned for.
The results
- Websites category winner in ACI-NA’s 2023 marketing, communications and customer experience awards.
- A brand the airport owns, carried through every page of its website.
- Long catch-all pages became focused pages travelers can scan on a phone.
- Parking status that airport staff update themselves, section by section.
- A 2026 accessibility upgrade on the same site, without starting over.
